Garrett Fennell is an experienced public affairs professional with excellent knowledge and practical working experience of public administration, policy development and regulation in Ireland and the EU. A solicitor by profession, he formerly worked with McCann FitzGerald in Dublin and Brussels and was a public affairs consultant within the ESB. He established GFC Consulting in 1997, one of Ireland’s leading public affairs firms and has also acted as a consultant solicitor on public policy matters to some of Ireland’s leading organisations.
He is also a founding director of Public Affairs Ireland and is the Consultant Editor to the Public Affairs Ireland Directory – now in its 5th edition.
In May 2011 he was appointed to the Local Government Efficiency Implementation Group by the Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government, Phil Hogan TD. Garrett Fennell is also a member of the cross Government High Level Group on Business Administration.
He lectures widely on issues relating to public policy development, legislative drafting, corporate governance, procurement and the political structures and processes in Ireland.
